Cheeeeeeessseee!!

(A near by church gave out free face paintings sessions. We took part. Arden is a butterfly and Ian is pointing to his car, whilst holding a oliebol a.k.a. fried ball of dough, usually covered in powdered sugar)
Alblasserdam hosts an annual festival, called HavenFest. Last year we were such newbies that we didn't get to fully enjoy the festivities. I do remember being annoyed at the decibel levels and exhausted techno blarring through our windows. See, we are situated right off the Dam, which just so happens to be the most happening place in our quaint little village.
This year we were able sit back and enjoy the day for what it was. Good ol' wholesome fun! At 5am you could here the tent being set up just below our living room windows. Vendors selling hosiery, 1 euro hair accessories, realtors handing out fliers, and even pony rides lined the street right below our casa. So cozy and so nice to be able to look out the window and see all the action. Actually, Arden was able to see the inflatable jumper that loves to frequent these kinds of festivals. Might I add that the day was absolutely beautiful.
